Tosca 2012

Summary

Set in Rome in 1800 the celebrated opera singer Floria Tosca is desperate to protect her lover the painter Cavaradossi who has been arrested for aiding an escaped political prisoner. Chief of Police, Scarpia, is in love with Tosca and offers to spare Cavaradossi’s life in exchange for her love. She agrees but as Scarpia signs the release order, she kills him. On finding that she was duped by Scarpia and that Cavaradossi has indeed been executed, she takes her own life.
